Simran's Aappa kadai was launched in the year 2002 to introduce customers to the world of Aappams. With a clear focus to provide its customers the most authentic Indian flavors, Simran's Aappa kadai soon became a favorite not only with Indians but also with food lovers across all nationalities. Aappa kadai's special offering to food lovers is the popular Aappam. Aappams are bowl shaped pancakes made from fermented rice flour. History has it that the ancient Tamil world, around the 1st century AD, used to relish this delicacy. The Aappam is also perhaps the only dish that was cooked in a number of ways and styles by different communities and countries. It was not only popular in Kerala and Tamil Nadu but also had its influence on Burmese and Sri Lankan cuisines. The Syrian Christians made the Aappam their own and cooked it in a distinctive style.
