Malgudi has that constant feeling to it, however long the time gap between two visits to the place may be. Named after R K Narayan's classic Malgudi Days, this restaurant has beautiful illustrations on its walls from the book. The restaurant manager will tell you that Malgudi has been named after a small place in Karnataka made famous by the author and his book. The round coffer style seating gives you a feeling of eating in a private dining room. Now, about the food. Spicy Chicken lovers simply must try their Pachimirapakai Kodi Vapudu\: deep fried, Andhra style. Fishy people craving Andhra cooking will love the Nellore Chapala Pulusu - a gravy dish to be eaten with rice or idiappam. Vegetarians, for you, Malgudi chefs have brought into their menu the Kerala style Vegetable Stew cooked in coconut milk, Karnataka Rasa Kai, made of mixed veggies and Andhra's famous Guthi Venkaya Kora - whole aubergines in a thick gravy. You could eat any of the above with steamed rice, appam, idiappam or the flaky layered Malabar Parotta. Recommended dessert is the famous Ada Pradaman\: rice flakes and cashew nuts in coconut milk and sweetened with jaggery. less «
